A care order is subject to section 105 (1). Any child under the age of 17 can be made the subject of a care order, with the exception of a 16-year-old who is married. WebSupervision orders are made under section 31 of the Children Act 1989. For a court to make a supervision order, the threshold criteria must be met. The court must be satisfied the child is at risk of significant harm and that this is a result of the care being given at home, or the child being beyond the parents’ control.
